 THE STATISTICS

                   LIFE EXPECTANCY IS AGE 38

FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE ALCOHOL DEPENDENT

THE CYCLE

Losing people too young to alcohol dependency affects the whole community.  Children are traumatized by losing parents, and other loved ones.  Adults are traumatized by losing family members and friends.

Trauma, depression, and grief put everyone in the community at risk to use alcohol to numb negative feelings- which then puts them at risk to become dependent on alcohol, which keeps the cycle going.

Learning to address negative feelings keeps people healthier, and living longer.  Showing the next generation how to deal with powerful negative emotions will give them a brighter future.

SHOW, DON'T TELL

During recovery, it is tempting to make big promises to the people you love.  Promise to never drink again, promise to never lose your temper again, promise to be there... Broken promises hurt relationships.

Show people what you are about, don't tell people.  Show your family and children that you are focused on the future. Show up on time.  Keep in touch.  Smile when you greet them.  Giving your time and your attention to your loved ones every day will heal your relationships and create healthy connections that fight addition.
